Don Jones

Don Jones joined the Chalfoun Lab in 2022 as a Master’s student studying the prevalence and effects of parasites on sagebrush songbird nestlings in the Upper Green River Basin near Pinedale, WY. Don is a Wyoming native who attended Middlebury College in Vermont and graduated with a B.S. in Conservation Biology and Environmental Studies in 2017. His past field experience has included surveying for amphibians, songbirds, owls, and small mammals throughout the Rocky Mountains, as well as aquatic connectivity work in Maine. He is most interested in the ecology and conservation of migratory birds.

In his spare time, Don enjoys fishing, hunting, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, camping, gardening, home-brewing beer, and (of course) birding. He is currently the vice-chair of the Wyoming Bird Records Committee and volunteers as a regional reviewer for eBird in Wyoming.
