Isabella received a B.S. in Integrative Biology from University of Illinois in 2019. While pursuing her degree, she found a passion for ecology when she joined multiple research labs. She gained experience working as a technician for the Illinois Natural History Survey. Here, she conducted fish surveys, collected water quality data, and kayaked 200 miles of the Embarras River. She continued her studies at Southern Illinois University, where she received a M.S. in Zoology (2022). Her research involved ecological stoichiometry, trophic interactions, and invertebrate functional feeding groups.
