Chuck Williams

ChuckChuck joined the lab in the winter of 2024 as a Research Technician and began his Masters in the winter of 2025. His research focuses on the spatial and temporal regimes of water temperature of the Upper Snake River in Grand Teton National Park. By combining high-resolution longitudinal thermal profiles with stationary logger networks, Chuck aims to provide managers with actionable insights into patterns of thermal heterogeneity in the Snake River. He is also investigating the drivers of water temperature dynamics to develop future scenarios of spatiotemporal thermal regimes. Much of his work has been done in collaboration with federal and state agencies as well as private stakeholders. Outside of work, he spends most of his free time rafting, fishing, or snowboarding. Between work and play, any time on the water is time well spent!
