Researchers seek to understand mule deer in the Wyoming Range

The Wyoming Range Mule Deer Project, the largest of it’s kind in Wyoming, seeks to better understand the population dynamics of our mule deer in western Wyoming via intensive study of the behavior, habitat use, nutrition, and performance of 70 individual females from the estimated near 30,000 animals that call the Wyoming and Salt River Ranges and adjacent habitat their home. Angus Thuermer details his experience as he joined our crew during a portion of our capture efforts in December 2014.
